We usually stick to martial arts when fighting, unless we're up against another using magic.

Never thought if it as a talisman, but that kind of make sense. In a distant way, it's similar. Sort of like the life force of the planet in shiny ball form.

No. Now I can change into a fox at will, though it's not an easy change. Others I know can change into other creatures.
