GUYS! Guys you're not gonna believe this!

I was out for a jog, just trying to find a good route, y'know? And I think I went out too far and... I FOUND MY GIRL!


[Prompto looked and sounded excited and he's quick to move forward and, after a little fiddling, he's set his magi-comm down on a wall and hurried back to pose all cool like with a big, yellow and equally cool looking chocobo!

Until Prompto hurries forward again, grabs up the device and comes back to lean into the neck of his chocobo and a less cool and more cheerful scene fills the screen!]


This is Birb guys! And yeah, I know, silly name right? But she liked it!


[Birb lets out a loud kweh and ruffles her feathers, clearly agreeing with Prompto's words. What had originally been a joke was a name she'd liked a lot and now wouldn't answer to anything else. After the fluff she began grooming Prompto's hair, much to his delight and embarrassment. He gives a half-hearted attempt to bat her away but, in the end, lets her mess his hair up as she will.]


That's it! Just wanted to show her off! She's pretty, right?

Uh, no dude. She's a chocobo. You've never seen a chocobo before?

[He was starting to feel a trend happening. The world seemed to be split between those who knew chocobo's and weren't from his world, and those who thought Birb was a chicken and wanted to eat her.

... He really hoped no one would try and eat her. He'd hate to have to shoot people!]

Not a clue. So what's this chocobo? A pet? A steed? How does one get it?

[Does he need a giant chicken? No. Does he want one? It would sound fun to see one in person.]

I guess a steed? I mean you could keep one as a pet if you had land enough. People race them for sport too! Chocobo racing is our national sport! They're really fast. Can't fly though.

[He gently patted Birb's wings and she fluttered them for him. They were small, ineffective for flying, but could help her glide and float a bit when jumping.]

[bingboom]

... Wait, but it's a bird. What do you mean it can't fly?

[Does he know what an ostrich is? I have no idea. Maybe not. Either way, feathers means flight, right?]

It's going to have tough time joining the Courier Union.

They're built to run, not fly! Shame really. She'd be an amazing flyer.

[When Prompto looked up at Birb it was with great fondness. And then exasperation when she started to groom his hair for him again.]

[Well, okay, that gets a laugh out of him. Like a loud hyena laugh. Really loud, really hyena.

He is half-tempted to make a joke about fried chicken, but he refrains. He clearly loves it.

Next time then, when he least expects it.]

You know what? Why not? Wanna figure out if someone out there sells a chick-- err, a chocobo airship?

A chocobo airship? That'd be kinda cool!

[And he was really kind of amused by this guys laugh. Okay, so his appearance was weird too. He'd never seen anything like him before, but Prompto was too polite to outright ask! At least not over a grainy video chat.]

Maybe on another world? I think these guys are found other places too, not just where I come from. Kinda weird but, I've seen weirder things.

Before I got here, I only knew one world. So as far as I'm concerned everything is weird.

So let me meet Birb! I wanna see just how fast she is.

[He may wanna race her. He is very excited to race her. What Prompto doesn't see is the tail wagging excitedly on this side.]

You wanna meet her?

[Prompto looked up as if somehow asking permission, but really just gauging the chocobo's reaction. She fluffed up her wings and raised her head to call out that signature cry and Prompto laughed.]

Guess that's a yes! You want us to come find you?

[bingboom]

Sure, why not? I'm not that familiar with the area anyway.

[So he might just get lost or something. Who knows? Or he gets mistaken as a local and is never found, but that's an issue for another time. For now, he just needs some sort of thing to focus on, like giant chickens.]

Actually, scratch that, maybe I'll look for you instead. I don't actually even know where I am.

[A wandering dog... Yup.]

Uh sure sure, come find us!

[Prompto was kind enough to turn the magi-comm around so that the guy could see around where he was and, hopefully, find him based on landmarks.]

We'll stick around and wait for ya!
