Now if those in the strange white hoaris are to be believed, all of us are refugees from other worlds.

So I'm curious... What kind of worlds do you come from?

I come from a world similar to this one, only I suppose it's a couple hundred years in the past, and yokai are only a myth.

We don't have steam power or trains where I am from. Our church has purposefully suppressed our technological advancement and pushed faith magic in its place.

There are some religious institutions that do similar things back in my world as well. Though, they do not seem to hold as much power as your church does.

The faith stood as the main pillar of governance until I ousted them from their central church.
