My, such an interesting way to communicate with others.
[Someone has been watching the network for a while before actually going about and making a post.]
Now if those in the strange white hoaris are to be believed, all of us are refugees from other worlds.
So I'm curious... What kind of worlds do you come from?
I come from a world similar to this one, only I suppose it's a couple hundred years in the past, and yokai are only a myth.

Instead of steam, most homes have electricity, along with running water, air conditioning, and heating systems. The clothing here is considered more traditional compared to what people wore in mine, and people weren't as shy about showing more skin in public.
We have trains in the Japan I'm from, too, but there's also airplanes that have made international travel much faster.

[That's a word he's never seen before.]
And how can it make international travel faster?

I think I once heard that if you wanted to fly from Japan to the West Coast of America, you'd make it within less than 24 hours.
That isn't to say a plane is impervious against the weather. If the weather is severe enough, then flights get canceled.

[Oh, if Lord Nobunaga were here he would want all the answers. For now, Mitsuhide will just gather what information he can.]
Certainly, it's not through magic? Especially since there may be several worlds without magic.
no subject
Definitely not magic. My world doesn't have magic, at least, not like the kind here. An airplane is a complex machine with lots of little parts, but I'm not knowledgeable about the specifics. It's just another "marvel of technology."
But even the ships in my time don't rely solely on the wind anymore. They can sail across the ocean on their own now, with the crew onboard that is.
[Ships still need a crew in her world.]

[Well, trains exist which makes traveling across land so much faster than riding a horse, so hearing ships traveling faster under their own power isn't that hard to imagine.]

In my time, some people go sailing just for leisure. We call those sort of trips "cruises." I've never been on one, but I heard they have all sorts of amenities to try and get the passengers to feel at home while at sea.

[Disease and storms just naming the top two!]

Maybe another time, I'll tell you about one of the most infamous ship disasters in my world.

Maybe I could recommend some books, too. There's a bookstore in Shinjuku that has a shelf with books that are somehow retrieved from the refugees' worlds. It's called Awanokuniya.

Oh? And just how different is magic and technology in your world compared to this one?
[What he has seen here so far is still pretty fantastical in his opinion.]

We don't have steam power or trains where I am from. Our church has purposefully suppressed our technological advancement and pushed faith magic in its place.

You, my dear, would get along quite well with my lord if he were ever to arrive in this reality.

[Though such strong willed stubbornness can sometimes be a detriment to making nice with similar personality types.]

[He tilts his head thinking a moment.]
I was raised in a more Western Culture too. Even if my parents did practice some Korean traditions.

Ah, so you're even further into the future then. Did you find it difficult to adapt here?
[So far some people seem to have a fairly easier time getting used to things in this world.]
Where are you from then, if not Korea?
no subject
[So being without highly advanced technology? He's pretty used to that!]
America. I live in a city called Los Angeles but I was born in one called New York.

[At the mention of where the other man was from, he raised an eyebrow.]
"America?" I think I've heard that word before when Lord Nobunaga was talking with some Portuguese traders.
So cities do eventually get established there?
no subject
[He's not sure about exact dates since history isn't his specialty but he's pretty sure of that.]
Were there no cities yet in your time?
no subject
[For all he knew there were some native cities, but they were probably different from anything he knew.]
I think I heard in passing that the Spanish had a few colonies there.

Interesting to hear how a land that is just being explored will one day turn into a country of its own.
