I am happy to show you, Lord Sesshomaru.

[prince_of_the_moon]

Can you journey to the edge of the city?

[atheva]

I can be there as soon as you like.

[prince_of_the_moon]

I will meet you there and take you to a safe place for it.

( action )

[atheva]

(( Give her a little time and she can be found on city's edge, staff in hand. Her pales eyes search the horizon, and even glance skyward for the sight of her friend. ))

[prince_of_the_moon]

{He lands before her, silently. His hands are empty, for now, and he nods to her.}

First, frost and beyond the Veil, you said?

[atheva]

(( She nods, solemn. ))

I did, indeed.

[prince_of_the_moon]

Show me each. {He stands firm, ready to be a target.}

[atheva]

(( This gives her pause. She's never used her magic against a friend before. However, Sesshomaru is neither elf nor human. He is much more and likely more able to avoid harm from her. If he cannot, she at least has some healing skills.

Atheva draws in a breath, more to steel herself for attacking a friend than anything else. Even in this place she can feel the pull of the spirit world of her home and she focuses on that to use her signature combination attack. The force of the Veil tugs at Sesshomaru, pulling at him with all the strength of gravity. Even if it's only a few steps back, the fire mine awaits, exploding around him. A normal opponent might panic and get careless, just long enough for Atheva to summon a mighty a blizzard to slow them down, if not freeze them through. ))

[prince_of_the_moon]

{He is dragged backwards by some powerful force, his feet failing to undo the backward momentum in time. Fire explodes around him, singing his clothes and leaving a few burns on his face and neck. He does not panic, however, and when he straightens, he draws Bakusaiga and slams the fang into the ground, splitting it in two. The crack will extend all the way to her feet.}

[atheva]

(( Instinct sends her leaping backward. Should she fear this demon? Probably. Yet, she feels from their short acquaintance that he would not willingly hurt her. The staff spins in her hand and she directs a sheet of ice to cover the crack. But there's a nostalgic smile on her lips. Iron Bull could do something similar and it makes her feel even more endeared to her demon friend. ))

[prince_of_the_moon]

{The ice will help because, under her feet, the destruction continues. Bakusaiga's blows are like that; one nick, one cut and the victim will eventually succumb to blood loss.

Thus why he strikes the ground and not her.}

Over here.

{He directs her to safety, leaping away from the crack and landing nimbly.}

[atheva]

What a magnificent weapon! Is the power that of the blade or your own directed through it?

(( This, of course, once they've moved to safety. ))

[prince_of_the_moon]

The fang is mine; it is my power flowing through it. {He holds out Bakusaiga for her to see.}

[atheva]

(( She looks carefully at the weapon. Yes, she sees it now, his energy flowing through the blade. It seems similar to her staff, in that respect, a focus for one's power. ))

May I touch it?

[prince_of_the_moon]

{One of his teeth is embedded in it - thus the name fang. He nods at her request.}

This is Bakusaiga, the blade I carried inside of me. It only revealed itself when I became worthy to wield it.

[atheva]

(( She lights traces her fingers across the flat edge of the blade. Yes, indeed, she can sense the power humming through it. It's easy to recognize as Sesshomaru's own power. However, the creation of the fan intrigues her. ))

So it's a part of you, in the truest sense?

[prince_of_the_moon]

Yes. Purebred Dog Demons all carry their fangs inside of them. {He nods towards his arm and adds:} I lost that arm in battle and when my blade appeared, it brought my arm back with it.

[atheva]

(( She listens intently, her focus still on the sword. ))

A mage's staff is not so personal. We can go through many within our lives, either made by us or for us. It channels our power, but we have no significant ties to them.

[prince_of_the_moon]

{So there aren't any Totosais in her world?}

There is a demon who perfects the blades for us and makes their sheathes. A Mage should specialize in crafting new staffs and matching them with a proper owner.

[atheva]

(( She holds out her staff, quite pleased with the design of it. Its narrow for her small hands, but sports a curved blade on one end to be a practical weapon as well as a magical one. ))

I made this staff to combat a great evil that threatened my world.

[prince_of_the_moon]

{He sheathes Bakusaiga, showing her how the fang must be contained. Then he looks over her staff.}

Have you thought of assisting others with theirs? After the evil is conquered?

[atheva]

I have not thought that far ahead. I wasn't sure I'd survive the last time my world was in danger.

[prince_of_the_moon]

Why shouldn't you survive? Plan on it.
