[Just like the last time Prompto's face hit the network, this time he looks just as excited! This was his Chocobo OMG™ face! It was the excitement that could only be caused by those bright, sunshine birds he loved so much!

This time there was one small difference. A very small difference...

While the image was somewhat grainy and the colours washed out, it was clear that Prompto was standing in a barn. And when he turned the camera, Noctis could be seen standing beside him.]


Okay so we've kept this secret because we wanted to wait to see how this went... But so far so good, right? [He glanced at Noct with a wide, happy grin.]


See, our chocobo's, they had babies! And they hatched! And it was touch-and-go for a bit but... Look!


[And here is where Prompto would take the camera off of himself and point it down toward the chicks. Three golden balls of feathers wandered near Noct's feet.]

[ After they show off the chocobo chicks, Noctis pulls the camera back in front of them, smile on his face. ]


We're thinking of setting up a race course, training these guys to race so we can share the national sport of Lucis with everybody. So, uh, if you've got any experience training chocobos... or anything, really, let me know. We may need some help.

Okay. Not talking talking to them.

Just. [ Cloud still lives in Tokyo for the time being, and of course, being on the edge of Neo Midgar, he's closeby. ] I'll swing by later.

[ Noctis raises his eyebrows at Cloud, unable to hide his laugh. He's not sure what to expect from the ex-SOLDIER at this point. But, he's looking forward to seeing him later at the very least. Who would've thought that one of his first friends here in Nippon also knew chocobos. ]

Just come in the back like you did when we sparred. Our barn is a work in progress, but it's at the very back of our property. I'll be with the chocobos most of the day, so I'll see you then.

[ C'mon man. Don't laugh at him. (*μ_μ) ]

I can show up in about an hour.

Can't wait.

[ Unfortunately for Cloud, Noctis is going to laugh once he sees his friend charm the chocobos. Guaranteed. ]

Like I said, I'll be out back waiting for you.

[ He then proceeded to dork it the hell up, "Wark"in' and "Kweh"in' his way into these birds' hearts.

('One of us... One of us...') ]

[ Noctis is doubled over laughing as he watches Cloud interact with the chocobos ]

Wark? What the hell is that?!

Wait for it...

[ ... wait for iiiit...

"Kweh~!" And so, just like last time? It ruffles its feathers and starts to...

Oh. Oh damn. ]

Eeyup.

[ And this has to be something he never thought he'd ever see - a chocobo dancing. Sure, he knew they were capable of a lot given his experience with the large birds back in Lucis, but never once has he seen them dance. ]

Dude--

[ Noctis is still bent over laughing. Cloud's attitude makes it even funnier - not a hint emotion, still the same serious dude he sparred with, yet here he is making the chocobos dance by telling them "wark." ]

I can't breathe. This is too much.

[ Cloud may be that "serious" dude he'd sparred with on the outside, but even then the cracks were starting to form when Noctis is bent over laughing. Enough so that though he doesn't buckle over in the same fashion, his shoulders finally give a light shake, a soft laugh escaping him. He didn't find the little trick to be all that funny, but, well...

Friends can be contagious. And because Noct was happy about this little impromptu secret? Well, ]

Looks like we got more in common than we thought.

[ so was Cloud. But he shall show mercy now. Good Chocobo. 'u' ]

[ Seeing the light shake of Cloud's shoulders, seeing the cracks start to form showing what was beneath that serious exterior kept the smile on Noctis's face. He knows it's tough to lighten up, and this is just a start for him, too.

Having his kingdom slowly losing sunlight, having been taunted by Ardyn, his best friend taken from him, the three of them nearly giving their lives for him... Well, it's been an adjustment being here in Nippon. But it's taking him back to being at Wiz's, roadtripping through Lucis with the guys, and he hopes Cloud can begin to break down his own walls like Noctis is allowing himself to do. ]

I'm not quite the chocobo whisperer you are, sad to say. I only know how to race them. [ A pause ] Where'd you learn that trick?

Never had the chance to do that back home... [ But he doesn't sound too disappointed either. Maybe it's because with more pressing matters waiting for him and his lot, Cloud would have to put such a notion on the backburner. But here? He won't ask about the birds just yet, but Noctis and Prompto may find their whisperer emerging to saddle up in the future. ] Honestly? While I was touring for a mission when I was younger. We had some downtime, so I found some chocobo penned up. The owner commented on my hair looking like theirs, and...

[ He shrugs. ]

The rest is history. Never thought it'd actually work with chocobos from different worlds, though.
