Heya everyone! Hope I'm not interrupting anything?

[Aerith appears with a bright smile and a strange question for everyone.

She'd been thinking about this for a little while now and had decided on a whim just to throw it out into the world and hope for the best!]

I was hoping to find someone who was handy with a sword to help me!

... Aaand maybe help me find one of my own. I used to have one. [A shake of her head and a laugh, remembering when that was...] You see, before here I was 'somewhere else'. I had a friend there, Nico, who was teaching me swordplay.

I've been thinking of picking that back up!

So I was just wondering, if anyone had any spare time, and a spare weapon, they'd be willing to pick up where Nico left off?

[ He is silent for a long while, the gears almost audibly grinding in his mind. ]

Was I not supposed to see this?

[ In other words, did he ruin the surprise? ]

[She can't help it when she laughs, Sephiroth is just so cute she wants to go and get him and just hug the stuffing out of him!]

I wasn't particularly hiding it! Not this time at least. But I would be lying if I said I didn't think you'd even see this...

I can't take up everyone's time, so if you really want to play with swords with me, then maybe we could practice what I learn together?

[ Sephiroth's smile is small but it is also deep, knowing, and incredibly possessive. He doesn't know why Aerith laughed, but he likes that she's happy and that she's doing this to be closer to him. ]

Whenever you're ready.

[ He closes his eyes in a slow blink in an attempt to contain his excitement. It's not that he thinks he will be able to go all out, nor would he even want to--Aerith is different from the others, precious. Sephiroth would never even attempt to harm her. It's simply that he might share this significant part of himself with her too. ]

Zack is going to help me find a sword and when I have one, I'm all yours!

[Well mostly. She did plan on getting training from others, she didn't want to try and master any one kind of sword art but learn a lot of different things to make something that was uniquely hers. A mixture of all the hands that had helped aid her combined to make something beautiful! Or completely awkward.

She wondered if she could eventually use her magic in conjunction with her sword?

That was something she planned to play with eventually! For now she needed to know how to swing it with any kind of ability.]

Have you ever taught someone before, Sephiroth?

[ Sephiroth is about to indulge in one of his (fairly) newly minted pastimes and tease Aerith when she poses the second question. Sephiroth blinks and considers it because

--what qualifies as teaching someone? Unlike Angeal, he's never had an apprentice and he's certainly never been called upon to give instruction to a class of cadets. Demonstrations, sometimes.

Does sparring with Angeal and Genesis and giving them pointers count? ]

Have I? [ Pause. ] Hm. I suppose that depends on who you ask.

[ There is a gleam in his eye now, because he just realized something. ]

You will be my first, officially.

[She'd expected an answer like that. From what Aerith remembered of Sephiroth from back home he'd been... very stand-offish. Even with his fan club! Even what she knew of him now she'd never really seen him teach anyone much of anything, unless it was during the heat of battle.

But on hearing his final answer, Aerith had to laugh.]

More firsts, hm? I find I am very happy with that!

[ If Sephiroth wasn't already sold on the idea, that laugh alone would do it. ]

[ The gleam is still present in his eye and, if anything, has only intensified. ]
