[Poor Xingchen isn't immune to stray illnesses - though his golden core is strong enough to heal him quickly. However he has had a tough week regardless and his hair is loose against his fever red cheeks.]

To those who haven't seen me attending to my usual duties, I apologize. I have been feeling under the weather.

[He blinks suddenly, realizing he pressed video instead of voice. Ah. Bowing his head, his long rabbit ears pressed against his head, he looks ashamed and embarrassed.]

I have been given plenty of herbs. Surely we can make use out of them?

[He has a plant loving friend okay.]

[ Maglor raises an amused eyebrow at him ]

Which herbs? Some make a good tea this is true, but you are starting to make me slightly concerned there, Xingchen!

[He blinks and bows his head apologetically.]

All of them can be brewed. My friend assures me of that much. Some are good for fevers and others for congestion. I also have regular tea.

[ Maglor laughs, soft and amused ]

I am teasing, Xingchen! But glad I am to know that you do have some idea of what is safe to drink, and what is not - I'd rather not have to explain that nightshade tea is not, in fact, safe to drink outside of very very very specific medical situations!

[ Elrond had to practice on someone, after all ]

[The sound eases any uncertainty and he blinks peacefully.]

I have some experience in healing. I can determine one herb from another using just my nose and fingers.

[Since he was blind once.]

Nightshade is dangerous! The amount must be measured carefully.

Have you! You should speak to Elrond, he would be glad to meet another who knows healing.

[ He laughs softly in memory ]

It is. But young peredhil had to learn that.

Meeting a true healer would be an honor! I fear my skills are lacking.

[But he knows enough to keep someone alive? Yay?]

What happened?

Ah well. It might be that a certain master healer started off very young and ... perhaps slightly overenthusiastic with applying what he had learnt in the healing rooms to... well. Cooking.

[ Not that he's naming names or anything ]

Cooking! [He gasps, his eyes wide.] Who ate the ah...nightshade...meal?

No one, fortunately!

[ Maglor laughs ]

Cook found him trying his hardest to 'make tea to help with the pain' when I was injured, once. To his credit, he only ever tried that once - he always was a quick learner.

Fortunately indeed! That could have been disastrous.

[Awww Xingchen can easily imagine a little child trying to help.]

He must have been worried about you. It isn't easy for children to see their guardians in pain.

[ I mean. It could have been a legit murder attempt, and if it had been Elros it probably was... ]

Indeed so! Well... he has been a healer all his life, I think.

[But not like murder murder. Just mostly dead.]

It must be inherited. I know of another great healer and it comes so naturally to him.

[ That probably depends on how angry Elros was at the time.... ]

I wouldn't know. [ he shrugs, a little sad, a little wry ] I never knew his parents.

[ Except for that part where he chased his mom off a cliff ]
