[He sighs heavily as he messes with the device he was given. He's never been very good with these things. Pushing his hands through his hair, he tries to at least get it recording somehow before giving up and just trying.]

Hey. If anyone out there can hear me I'd like some help finding a way to the a forest of some kind. My sense of smell is really thrown here so I haven't been able to figure out which way is up let alone which way is not city.

[He offers a smile but his eyes, though seeming bright, don't seem to ever focus on the screen before he fumbles with things to try to turn if off.]

Crap. What is the off...?

[He ends the recording completely on accident. But it's also what he wants so...great?]

[He lifts a brow because he's sure that he should be more worried about the curses but you can survive a curse. Death? Obviously, not so much.]

If that's what they want to do to feel safe then that's what they're going to do.

[ Death is easy. The curse, you have to live with. Maglor has no issues with dying - the living, that's the hard thing. Especially considering the sort of nature the curses tend towards ]

As long as you do not encroach, I think you will be alright. And if you keep your communicator on hand, at the least, you can call for help if needed.

The communicator thing is something I am going to have to learn. I'll have an easier time dealing with the woods than I will with this thing.

[ Maglor grimaces sympathetically ]

I know that feeling as well. This is far beyond what my world knows - but it is, fortunately, not too difficult to work out.

Honestly I'm living in an era with even more advanced technology.

[He sighs a bit. People have already figured it out so no point hiding it. He points to his eyes.]

I'm blind. It makes using these things a challenge.

Oh! [ He makes a sympathetic hum ]

That does make it tricky. I think ... there might be an audio function on these, although you'd need to check with those who know the technology better than I.

I have someone coming who wants to help me learn it. He knows I'm blind so that should help...

I am glad! I would offer whatever else you need, but it sounds as if things will be well in hand. But feel free to call for me, if you need - I am often in the woods, as I have said, and the local youkai know me passing well.

Well you can still be my guide out there if you want. After all, I'm going to have to learn the forests if I'm going to live there.

Someone wants to meet up with me at a temple to give me some food. I can call you after if that works? I should know how to do that by then...

Of course. I can make my way out that way and meet whenever you call.

Not at all! My folk don't tend to need much sleep - chances are good I'll be out there all day anyway.

[It's several hours later before he calls again. This time when Maglor opens the video he'll see that Silvio is on the edge of town at the woods.]

It's Silvio. I'm here now.

Hello Silvio!

[ Maglor had been meandering slowly in that direction, taking his time to enjoy the weather, and he hurries his steps at the call ]

I am not far - give me a moment to meet you there.

[typhlotic]

I'll stay here. I can get myself to this point but I'm still learning my way around in the woods.

[bythewaves]

Be there soon.

[ And sure enough, there's the sound of footsteps (Maglor's are rhythmical, moving, even like this, to the beat of a tune only he hears) and then a hail ]

Silvio! Hail and well met.

[typhlotic]

[His head turns to face him and it's almost like he can see the other. However, he's just using the sounds around him and the scent to track where things are. He offers a smile.]

Hey. Thanks for meeting me.

[bythewaves]

Tis no trouble at all. [ He comes over, making sure to make enough noise for Silvio to place him, rather than the silent passage he normally has ]

Have you had much luck with the communicator so far?

[typhlotic]

Enough luck to be able to successfully call you.

[Which is better than nothing at this point.]

Which is enough to get by with to start. [ Maglor agrees ]

Hopefully the rest will come with time. So and so! Shall we walk a little, and I can tell you what I know of the area.

[After all, he can smell him now. It's easy to keep track of him now that he has his scent memorized.]
