[The background image shows the scientist's building where everyone gets the Talk about Nippon and Kizuna magic and all that fun stuff. In the foreground is a young woman, face clearly showing that she has a dangerously high temperature with her droopy eyes. Another disconcerting thing is that she's in a halter top and no winter gear. Her left upper arm is scarred, right arm is unblemished]
I don't know how these people think we can trust them after they just snatch us out of our prospective donuts. At least it feels nice out here.
[Yeah, it would if you have 103F temp and rising.]
I need...
I guess I need to find my bearings.
And a place to rest.
I think...
[Her voice fades out as she tries to think]
This sucks. I can't think. I need help. This fever's too high. I don't even know how I'm standing.
[And the feed jars suddenly, landing hard on the ground beside a hand that's alarmingly still.]

Puppy's with you always.

Yeah. For the rest of my life.

[There's the smallest whimper at the change in gait but otherwise she seems fairly secure in his arms. Still hot, though. ]

Try and swallow a little of this alright? It'll be a little bitter but it should help with the fever...

[Setting the cup, he settles her down again and makes sure the blanket is properly over her.]
Get some rest. I'll be here the whole time while we wait for the fever to break.
[Likely as a wolf to give her extra heat.]

Wake up time on Wednesday!

Make sure you stay near the fire. It's cold out there.
[Silvio smiles then.]
You wanna try eating?
no subject
[ Hungry? Not hungry? Her voice does sound dry.]
Everything just hurts right now.
[Yep. All of the clothes are coming off. At least she wouldn't smell sick. Just stressed from the pain. ]

[Grabbing a bowl, he pours some of the broth in. They can start with that. Moving that over, he sets it near her so it can cool then reaches to take the fallen clothes.]
You don't smell ill anymore at least. That's a positive.
no subject
[ She feels a little awkward about him taking care of her clothes. Just because...well. She should be doing something other than being ill. ]
Yes. After the fever there's...I guess other people would call it nerve pain? Neuropathy? It wanes once I get settled in a place, but it's not like I like it.
[Okay, so maybe that broth does look appealing. ]
You're here all alone in this place?
no subject
[Clothes in hand, he walks a short distance down to the water with a bucket and some soap. She'll probably notice he's not wearing shoes despite how cold he says it is beyond the fire.]
I understand living with pain after something even if you don't like it though. I deal with that pretty often.
no subject
I meant more locally. Like in this dwelling.
[ But she watches though, keen on all the nuances she can notice. ]
It's winter here, right? Are you some off the grid kind of person?
no subject
[Kneeling down, he starts cleaning the clothes. Rather than look at them though, he keeps bringing them up to sniff to check his progress.]
Cities can be too loud for me because my hearing is so good. It's hard for me to do something like sleep there. So until I can find a building out here to live it's camping for me.
no subject
[THoughts of Cabin in the Woods comes to mind. ]
Or are there zoning laws around this place?
no subject
[He scrubs the clothes clean and brings them back to hang them near the fire so they'll dry well.]
If you need a safe place to stay though you're welcome to stay with me.
no subject
Well, good thing I can read. [ Her confidence falters. ]
I hope they have English translations because my grasp of Kanji is abysmal. But! I'll stay and work on helping you get four walls and a roof, how's that?
no subject
[He pauses a moment then suddenly realizes something for the first time.]
Hey, what language am I speaking right now?
no subject
...English? Why?
no subject
I'm speaking Spanish. Have been since we met.
no subject
But I know Spanish. And Welch and Latin and Mandarin and Japanese and Thai. [ And a couple other languages she doesn't feel the need to speak about ]
I wonder why the default is English. Maybe the first language I grew up with?
