[It was only a matter of time, he supposed, before one of the strange effects of this place happened to him. That doesn't mean he's pleased about it, however. Slightly paniced and quite annoyed, bordering on angry, would be a more accurate way to describe his current mental state.

They were, and it was probably partialy his fault that they were so. Considering what an indulgent older brother he'd been to them... and to most of his other brothers, come to think of it.]

Hm. I'm sure I've heard something about animals needing salt, sometimes. So it might depend? Didn't the deer used to come to salt licks near Himring? Elk are somewhat like deer....

Would make sense, no? We need salt, after all, so they probably do as well. The deer certainly seemed to enjoy the taste of it. And elk are basicaly just bigger deers, right?

That's true. Horses sometimes liked salt too, I remember. I can't remember seeing the hunting hounds go for salt, but perhaps they did! Maybe it's just something all things need?
