[He's taken a few days before coming to this network, mainly observing and getting a feel for it. But now, he wants to try it. So here Runyu is, sitting in his room before a low table with some tea before him. Compared to a few days ago, he doesn't look nearly as regal, his white robes simple despite their numerous layers.

He offers the view a smile, nodding his head politely.]

Greetings. My name is Runyu.

I wanted to start off by saying that I'm grateful to all those who took care of me when I arrived here. With such friendly faces it was rather easy to settle in. Thank you to those I have met so far.

[He might be confused as to how he's being kept here but he appreciates everyone regardless.]

Though, I have noticed that one can find themselves alone a good deal if they lack those from home here. I'm curious to know how people handle this here. What have you done to occupy yourselves? Not everyone is so used to the feeling of isolation so I wouldn't mind learning what you have come up with. It could be interesting.

Most of the time if I am not home then you will find me in the park, up in the tree, and playing my xiao. Now that I can again.

[ He twirls the xiao slightly before shaking his head. ]

I have yet to explore everything here. Though, we could make a day of it and see what this place holds.

Ah so I what I have to do is listen for music from a xiao and I will be sure to find you.

That rather takes the challenge out of it but I have no complaints.

Ah, but I am not the only one here who plays the xiao. How would you know which you would find?

[ Though, he's sure the others do not lay out in trees. ]

Oh? Do all of them spend most of their days in trees too?

[ That? He can't help but laugh at. ]

Probably not. However, I do not know them well enough to know.

Well in that case I would say I shouldn't struggle too hard to find you. A xiao player in a tree.

[ Mingye has a bad habit of disappearing at any given notice or sticking to shadows. But he won't do that to Runyu. ]

I will probably be the easiest one for you to find. I prefer the outdoors to being inside.

As do I honestly. These days being inside can feel...stifling.

For me? I'm not liable to bother anyone out here, where as there are those that could be bothered while inside.

[ Not that he thinks Xingchen would be bothered, the man likes his xiao playing. ]

Bothered? By what exactly?

Not everyone is fond of music at all hours of the night, Runyu.

[He bursts out laughing at that.]

Well then perhaps I should invite you to visit my place anytime you like. I wouldn't mind music at all hours.

[ He can't help but smile at that, shaking his head. ]

That could be dangerous, you realize. You'd never get rid of me.

No? That doesn't seem so terrible from what I've seen of you so far.

I mean you'd have to share with Xiao Xingchen and Lan Wangji, probably.

[ It's weird feeling so easy around someone, whether they've met in person or not. ]

Though, no. I suppose it wouldn't be so terrible. You'd have music whenever you wished.

I haven't met the other two yet but I still cannot say I would mind. Since it seems we're meant to forge relationships with others here then having company would be nice.

[Especially company that makes him smile this easily. It's nice.]

Besides, I think I would enjoy suddenly having you arrive and filling my place with music.

[ Forging relationships isn't something he normally does. Xingchen and Wangji both know that it's hard for him. So, this? It's progress. ]

And what if it was in the middle of the night? Or far early in the morning?

I think you'll find those are hours I am often wide awake actually.

Or maybe I'll lull you to sleep.

Will you? I wonder if that will work. I confess I don't have an easy time sleeping actually.

If you wanted to try, we could. If that doesn't work then I'm sure Xingchen would have teas that might help.

[ He'd had some that dealt with pain, after all. ]

So you two will work together to help me sleep? Tea and gentle music.

I'm not sure what I've done to have earned this care.

All I would have to do is tell Xingchen you needed help to rest and he would help. So, yes. Tea and gentle music.

Whether you know what you have or have not done, you have it.

[He just met this man and already he rushes to aid him. They've sworn to aid each other and now this. It almost doesn't seem real but here they are.]

I've always struggled with rest honestly. There were times I would just try to nap wherever I could simply because I didn't have the time for it.

Here I suddenly have the time for it but my mind races.

[ The first time Xingchen offered him help... Mingye had thought the other was doing it for ill purposes. His father has his views pretty skewed. So, trusting had not come easy. It still wasn't that easy, but he doesn't think everyone has other intentions when offering friendships. ]

Perhaps I should play for you? To see if it helps ease your racing mind.
