[Gaura is honestly rather used to getting lost. He's been fired from enough jobs for being late to work because of it, after all. So now he feels like maybe that happened here? Yes, he's had everything explained to him but that certainly hasn't stopped the confusion.

But after going in circles for several hours he's finally discovered this feature and he's giving it a go.]

Hi there. [He gives a smile. A look he's figured out is usually the thing to get someone to help.]

Could someone help me out? I seem to have lost my way to my apartment and nothing is really looking that familiar. Is Koreatown familiar to anyone at least?

[Gaura has been sorting through what his apartment has so he'll know what he needs to save up for when he hears the knock. Moving slowly to the door, he smiles when he hears who it is and unlocks it.]

Welcome back. It's nice to see you again.

[gentledawn]

[Anything he needs, he can ask for too. The money Xingchen makes goes to good use for himself, Zichen and his friends.

Hearing the door unlock, he smiles too and holds out the dish.]

I bet you're hungry. It's hot, so this is the perfect time to enjoy it.

[Right then his stomach lets out a little growl and his cheeks color.]

...I am. Thank you.

[Taking the dish, he savors the warmth of it.]

You've probably eaten but you are welcome to come in if you like.

[gentledawn]

[He's just in time! He inclines his head happily at the offer.]

To keep my friend company? How can I say no?

[He can't. Walking inside, he closes the door gently behind them.]

Are you missing any necessities?

So far I don't seem to be. But I'm thinking I might discover something along the way.

[For now he knows he'll need to save money for food. But he supposes that's such a small thing right now when he has this stir fry. Which he takes to set up.]

I'm used to not having a lot though.

If you do, make a list. Anything you can't acquire, I will find for you.

[His friend can surely live a nicer life; he deserves to. Xingchen makes a note to bring Gaura comforting items too - blankets and pillows especially. They can make a foreign place feel...homey.]

As am I, but you needn't go without.

You've already done so much for me though...

[He doesn't even know what he's done to deserve it. He can't even offer anything in return right now.]

Friends help each other. [And it's something he enjoys doing.] Knowing you are safe will set my heart at ease.

[Once he has the food ready, he sits down so he can start to eat. Well, he doesn't start right away. He just smiles down at the bowl for a moment.]

I'm not used to having friends. I knew it would be nice but I never imagined...this.

[gentledawn]

[Gaura is so sweet. Xingchen joins him at the table and reaches across to squeeze his hand.]

I hope we can spend many more hours together. There is so much to see and do in Jikan.

[He lifts the smile to Xingchen and offers his hand a squeeze back. Contact like this...it's so nice.]

I hope so too. You're really such a wonderful person, Xingchen.

[His face heats immediately at the compliment and he lowers his gaze shyly.]

I am no better or worse than anyone else. If... If what I say and do comforts you, thank my Master. She is the one who taught me.

[Taking a bite of food, he thinks about those words for a little bit. Finally, he speaks softly.]

I think it's true that the ones who raise us will teach us a great deal. But I think that who we are as people matters a great deal too. You're kind and it feels like that comes from your heart and not the lessons of your mind.

You... You're probably right. I do enjoy caring for others and making friends. [Teaching helps him fulfill both, yet having a student isn't the same as having a friend.]

Many know what they should do and choose to do the opposite. I believe you have met many people like that.

[He pauses in taking a bite and then lowers his gaze. Even after having been mistreated and neglected and abandoned by many, he still looks so hesitant to speak ill of their actions.]

You are so kind. [He rises to gather Gaura a glass of water and returns to set it beside his plate.] Please enjoy the meal and don't think of the past.

[Nodding, he takes a few more bites of food before speaking again.]

If you like something sweet, I can make you a pie too.

[He likes experimenting with fruits and different crusts!]

Pies are really good. I haven't made one in awhile.

[He hasn't had the ingredients for it. But he supposes that's something he can try to do more here. Once he has more funds, of course.]

What kind do you make?

I've made blackberry and blueberry... Strawberry once.

[A certain bird liked the first two, so perhaps he has a knack for them!]

I would like to try apple or peach.

Fruit pies. I like those.

[To be honest he'll eat most anything so that's not saying much.]

I think my favorite is chocolate pie though. If we can find the ingredients for it I'll show you how to make it.

I could bring the ingredients here or you could come to my home and show me?

[That would be fun!]

[Around a mouthful of food, he nods with a little smile. Getting to show Xingchen how to make a new pie? That would be fun.]

It's not to hard. I'd love to.

Wonderful! I haven't had much chocolate, but a lot of people seem to love it.

[He does use sugar in his pies - just not an overwhelming amount. The sweetness comes from the berries.]

It's really creamy. A custard if you've had that. And then when you add whipped cream it adds another layer of flavor to it.

[He doesn't get to have it a lot but it's definitely the flavor that makes him the happiest.]
