[He's taken a few days before coming to this network, mainly observing and getting a feel for it. But now, he wants to try it. So here Runyu is, sitting in his room before a low table with some tea before him. Compared to a few days ago, he doesn't look nearly as regal, his white robes simple despite their numerous layers.

He offers the view a smile, nodding his head politely.]

Greetings. My name is Runyu.

I wanted to start off by saying that I'm grateful to all those who took care of me when I arrived here. With such friendly faces it was rather easy to settle in. Thank you to those I have met so far.

[He might be confused as to how he's being kept here but he appreciates everyone regardless.]

Though, I have noticed that one can find themselves alone a good deal if they lack those from home here. I'm curious to know how people handle this here. What have you done to occupy yourselves? Not everyone is so used to the feeling of isolation so I wouldn't mind learning what you have come up with. It could be interesting.

That would be quite a lot to get used to all at once.

[He somewhat knows how it feels honestly.]

At times like it can seem like isolation is more of a companion than anything else.

[Something he also knows well.]

There are two that have helped since I got here. Xiao Xingchen is one, he helped quite a bit when I first showed up here. The newest one I met, who has offered help, is Lan Wangji.

[ Another twirl of the xiao and he watches this stranger for a moment. ]

Isolation does seem like a companion, at times. But, I'm slowly learning that it's better to have friends and those you can rely on.

[ There's a brief pause. He had Runyu at a bit of a disadvantage by knowing his name and the other not having his. ]

I'm Yu Mingye.

[dragonrising]

[It is better to have friends. He can agree with that entirely. Though after all he's done, he can understand why he lacks them now. The fact that his brother is even willing to call him his brother again is so much more than he ever could have asked for.

But, strangers here don't need to know all of that. They don't need to know the kind of monster he really is. Was.

Is he still that monster? It's hard for him to tell but he knows he doesn't want to be.

He smiles a little.]

Yu Mingye. It's good to meet you. I can't say I'm familiar with either of these men but I feel like I may have to keep an eye open for them.

[ Sometimes even monsters can be redeemed. ]

I'm sure that you'll meet them eventually. Lan Wangji, he'll probably have rabbits with him if you do see him. As for Xingchen, he could be just about anywhere.

[dragonrising]

[He can't help the soft laugh at that moment.]

Rabbits? I will keep that in mind. Though it seems a shame there's not a similar trick for this Xiao Xingchen.

He saved the rabbits. As for Xingchen.

[ There's a bit of a fond smile there, even if he doesn't smile often. ]

Him? You'll find anywhere someone needs help. No matter how big or small.

Ah. He's that type of a man. It's good to know that such a noble heart is here.

[No matter how big or small though? People with hearts like that can get hurt. He's seen it before.]

I can't say that I often go looking for help so perhaps I may not run across him so easily.

Lan Wangji is an interesting person.

[ Both Wangji and Xingchen were interesting people, but he liked both of them. Even if one of them reminded him of Linyuan. ]

I'm not the type to go looking for help either. He has a way of finding you. Somehow.

[dragonrising]

[That makes him lift a brow.]

A way of finding you? And if you don't know that you need help? Does this still happen?

I'm not sure how he manages it.

[ He just knows that seems to be Xingchen's thing to do. ]

It might. Though, how would someone not know if they, themselves, needed help or not?

[ When he'd shown up in this place he'd only had one arm, with Xingchen's help and some spell of sorts, he has both again. He hadn't gone looking for help, he could've lived with the one arm. Even if he wouldn't have been able to play his xiao. ]

Not everyone knows. At times it takes others to make them realize at all. They could go years and years without ever knowing.

[It's certainly something he's been through. Though, no one helped him in the end. He had to create his own help. Even if it bit him hard in the end.]

[reliesondirtytricks]

[ He could argue that point. However, it had taken until Feng Wu opened his eyes for him to start pulling away from the Darknight Court and his father's hold. ]

Well, you'll have the help you need here, if it's needed.

[dragonrising]

Hopefully I don't but I'm grateful to have it all the same.

[But really, he's not so interested in it. If he's to fall then he believes it's what he deserves really.]

One can always hope.

[He lets out a soft laugh.]

One can. We don't always get what we want but we can still hope.

No. We don't always get what we want. However, as long as hope is involved we'll survive the best that we can.

[dragonrising]

That's a very optimistic way of looking at things. I quite like that.

Considering my upbringing, I find it the best way to look at something. It also reminds me that I'm nothing like my father.

That is something I understand. You are not the first to want to be nothing like his father.

I doubt anyone would want to be anything like, or related, to a man known as Lord Demon.

Lord Demon? What a name...

Leader and head of the Darknight Court. Or was.

My father was the Emperor of the Heavens. I understand well how these men can hold such impressive titles.

Hopefully, yours never made you do things you didn't want to do.

No. He was a different kind of monster.
