Hello everyone. For those who saw the injured man looking for Pete, I'm him. He found me... [More like Pete found him.] ...so that's settled. He's in good care now.

[But now onto the main reason he's posting.]

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows of any training grounds or a shooting range? The shooting range would be especially great but I'll be happy to accept just a training ground too. Mostly I just want to make sure I don't end up too lazy.

[And he wants to test his new gun...]

Also if anyone has food recommendations here let me know. Especially good if it's take out that I can bring home to share. Spicy is a bonus.

But it never runs out of ammo? That... Must be that magic you told me about.

It runs on the bonds I've formed. I'm still not fully sure how that works yet.

[But after firing a lot of rounds in a row he can be sure that the thing definitely doesn't run out of ammo.]

We're armed at least. That's a relief for me.

(( It's a relief for Vegas, too. They don't know what dangers this strange place may bring, and having at least one tried and true weapon helps set him more at ease. ))

[Because luckily he knows the sorts of places he needs to go to look for things like that.]

[Taking his hand, he gives it a squeeze. And then he has to tease him a bit.]

Especially now that you're not fighting people since you know where I am.]

(( Vegas feigned a look of offense. ))

Are you saying you don't want me to worry about you?

Not if it means you hurting yourself and opening your wounds, you fucking idiot.

[He smacks his good arm and huffs.]

(( That same art darted out and caught Pete by the back of his neck. He pulled the other man in until their foreheads touched. ))

I have nothing without you.

[It was such a simple move but it made his heart skip a bit. Only Vegas had ever been able to make him feel like that. He swallowed as he gazed at him.]

And what am I with you? Keep that in mind next time, fucking jerk. I'm nothing without you either and it's your fault so own up to that and take care of yourself for me. All the time.

(( Something about his posture changed, making him smaller, more subdued. ))

I thought I was here alone. I couldn't take that.

Then you make sure you take care of yourself for when I show up. I'm your special person now so you have to take care of yourself so you can take care of me.

[He lets out a big breath to steady himself. Fine. He's fine.]

It's okay though. I'm here now and that's what matters.

(( Vegas rubs his fingers against the back of Pete's neck. It's a reminder to them both that they're here and alive. ))

Okay, Pete. Okay. I'll do better.

[He relaxes due to the fingers, closing his eyes and breathing deep.]

I believe you.

(( It was strange the way Pete affected him. Touching him could bring Vegas calm or it could boil his blood. Being close to him made breathing easier and scattered his worries. But Pete also took his breath away without even trying. It was a marvelous thing the sheer range of human emotion one man could make him feel. ))

That's all I need.

[Scooting closer and pushing the gun out of his way, he curls up next to Vegas so he can put his head on his lap. To just be there with him and have his scent so close. To feel his warmth and have that reminder he's definitely real.

Eyes closed, he lets himself draw comfort from this person that he's come to love so much it hurts. But in the best possible way now that he's embraced it.]

(( Vegas reached town to thread his fingers again and again through Pete's hair. It's relaxing and a reminder that he's not alone. He has Pete with him to face whatever this world has to throw at them. His Pete. The only person he feels truly and wholly safe with. ))

[The petting makes him melt and relax. Soon he's smiling again, back to his happy self. Gently his fingers pet Vegas' hip through the blanket, content to stay where he is for a bit.]

(( He knows Pete's as adept at faking smiles as he is. They're easy to hide behind. Others tend to prefer happiness over any other emotion and accept smiles with less questioning. But Vegas could tell the differences between Pete's real smiles and the ones he put on for the world. He hasn't wrung out every emotion from Pete, yet, but he's confident that he can and will. ))

I love you, Pete.

You're still a psycho and an asshole.

[But this time he means it with all the affection in the world. Vegas was a fucking monster but the fact was that he was his fucking monster now. Somehow that made all the difference in the fucked up world they were from. The worst of life had forged them into the broken people they were and somehow they'd found each other. Who they really were. Embracing that now just felt right.]

Fuck you.

(( With utmost affection.

But isn't being fucked up what brought them together? Pete made Vegas feel like a human being with his militant acceptance of all the things no one in Vegas' life had wanted to see. His sadism, his homosexuality, his vulnerability, his loneliness. Not only did Pete see and accept him, he mirrored everything back. And Vegas saw him. All of him. Saw all of him and wanted more. ))

Fuck you too.

[But he can't help the soft laugh that leaves him. Only they could say shit like that to each other and have it sound like they were delivering words of love. It's their own special language and he doesn't want anyone else to understand the depths of it.

It's why he looks up at Vegas now with a big smile as he says:]

(( Okay, well that might have sounded like an invitation. But for another time. After last night and how long it took for the pain to subside and his breathing the even out, he knew better than do anything more than that.

And honestly? Right now he wasn't even that interested in sex. The intimacy they shared in the moment was more than enough. It was that which brought them together in the first place. Not the torture, not even the sex. It was the bond they established in the safehouse before they ever fucked that burned so hot Vegas thought he might disintegrate. ))

[But he's not moving for anything like that. Partially because Vegas isn't ready for it and partially because right now it just feels good to be able to mess around like this. To just be able to say this kind of stuff to each other without any kind of expectation behind it. It's them and they're just sharing a moment together.
