[It was only a matter of time, he supposed, before one of the strange effects of this place happened to him. That doesn't mean he's pleased about it, however. Slightly paniced and quite annoyed, bordering on angry, would be a more accurate way to describe his current mental state.

He is currently glaring quite menacingly at his own reflection at the moment. At the two elk horns that has started to grow from his head, if you wanted to be precise about it.]

If anyone knows how to make these go away I would be very grateful for the assistance.

[His voice is level, almost emotionless, but there is an undercurrent af anger to be heard for those who knows him well enough. One of his ears twitch in annoyance and he notices that though it is still pointed it is now covered in a soft velvety fur now.]

[ He mourns cheerfully ]

[ He grins and says virtuously ]

I'm sure I don't remember any of that. I was a Good Boy~

[ setting fire to the kitchen is a rite of passage to adulthood? ]

Mm, whenever you're ready, Nelyo. It was easiest to just... sort of relax into it? I could probably do it on command if I really tried now.

I had to give you something didn't I? After I took all the height and good looking genes for myself.

[He jeers, falling into the familiar good natured teasing with ease.]

Well, I don't know... you lot were like a flock of curious magpies. It wouldn't surprise me if you pilfered the fun while you were going through the rest of the knickknacks of my room.

[He fires back with a wide grin of his own.]

A Loud Boy is what you were~

[In their family it certainly seemed that way. He thinks he's the only one who's not done so even once.]

Yes... relax...

[He takes a couple of deep breaths, trying to find the right mindset to relax himself into the shape of a deer. It takes him a moment or two but once the change comes it happens relatively fast. Fast enough, actually that he does lose his balance and ends up in a tangled up pile on the ground.]

Alas, left to be eternally short!

[ Maglor laments ]

And surely you hid nothing from us, your dearest siblings~!

[ He grins and shrugs, unapologetically ]

One did have to be rather loud to be heard in our household~

[ He nods, ready to support his brother as he can ]

Mm, or at least, stop fighting the change.

[ It's quick, when it happens, and Maglor isn't fast enough to catch him, although he suspects that would have just taken him down with him, considering the size difference ]

Nelyo! Are you alright? Nothing hurt?

So short. You might as well be a dwarf, brother dear~

[Not really, though, but what's the fun of this if he doesn't exagerate a bit?]

Hiding things? Me? Now why would I ever feel the need to do something like that? When I have such well behaved brothers that show such respect for my privacy and would never even think to raid my room the moment my back was turned~

[He gives his brother a rather pointed look.]

Truth be told I prefered it when you lot were loud. I never had to wonder what you were up to when you were yelling and hollering. It was when things got quiet that I new one or more of you were getting up to something you shouldn't be doing.

[Ending up in a pile on the ground had damaged nothing but his pride, that certainly had not been the most dignified way to shift his shape. But he supposes he shouldn't be too surprised, the shift had knocked him entirely off balance.]

Please, the real snoops were the Ambarussar!

[ Tyelko was too straightforward, Moryo too respectful of privacy, Curufin too attached to the forge ]

There were two of them, after all!

[ He kneels by his brother and scratches around the base of his horns again ]

That's good. Did you want to try standing, or are you more comfortable like that?

[He gives Maglor a sceptical once over as he smirks.]

They were certainly the worst but you all had an unfortunate habit of snooping, you know?

[At least when it came to their oldest brother trying to keep something hidden from them.]

That did make them a bit harder to handle than the rest of you, I admit...

[Maedhros let's out a snort as he rights himself up a bit, so that he at least is in a bit more comfortable position as he contemplates how to best go about this. Who'd have guessed working with four legs instead of two could be so complicated.

The scratching is nice, though, so he'll lean into that a bit as he thinks things through.]

I think I'll try to stand, but slowly. Best not to be in too much of a rush or I'll just end up falling over again.

I was a good child and will never admit otherwise.

[ He grins cheerfully ]

Alright, take it slow - you're much bigger than I am like this, and heavier too! It feels like four legs might be harder to co-ordinate than two and wings!

[Maedhros tentatively puts one hoof after another under himself, finding to his immense relief that he is not missing one, lifting himself up catiously to stand on somewhat shaky legs as he tries to find the best way to balance himself.]

This... will take some getting used to. Keeping track of four legs is harder than one might imagine.

[ Maglor notes that and is also grateful, standing back enough to give his brother room to manouever but close enough he could try to help if he wobbled ]

It certainly looks it. But there, you are standing, at least.

[ Mostly standing ]

Perhaps we should hold off on walking until you're stable, though.

[Yes. He's standing a bit unsteadily, sure, but he's standing. It's just so different from being on two legs that he actually have to concentrate on keeping his balance because his center has shifted so drasticaly.]

It is a small enough victory but I'll take what I can get with this.

[He does not try to walk yet but he does try shifting his weight a bit. It does not make him fall but he does wobble a bit.]

Yes... best not to be too hasty before I get a hang on this. Best to try to... master the art of standing first.

[ Maglor hovers nearby ]

At least you didn't end up with only three legs - small mercies! Goodness, but you're massive, Nelyo!

[Or he's trying to be, at least.]

Small mercies, indeed! This is hard enough to do with all legs intact, I can't imagine how it would go if I was even more thrown out of balance. I... had somehow not really counted on being this massive...

[And he was. He truly was a monster of an elk, much larger than such a creature had any right to be really.]

[ Maglor agrees, and eyes his brother's form ]

Even without the antlers you're, what... two heads taller than me? A head and a half, at least! I don't think I've ever seen an elk this big who wasn't Orome or some other Maiar. It's a good thing we didn't try this inside, as there would definitely have been breakage! At least you seem to be stable, now.

In our defence it's pretty hard to imagine an elk this size...

[Maedhros takes a tentative step forward, being careful to keep all his legs in order, he's still a bit unsteady but he seems to be getting the hang of keeping himself upright at least.]

Nor have I and I'm pretty sure we'd have heard no end of it from Tyelko if he'd ever come across any. I'd have most likely ruined both the floor and the cieling had we tried it inside... not to mention the walls. This shape is a strictly outdoors one, I think.

I've certainly never seen any, although I suppose the hunters of our family might!

[ Maglor watches his brother carefully but relaxes as Maedhros seems to get the hang of it ]

Ah, that's true - Tyelko would have talked our ears off! And yes, I'd agree. You'd be pretty terrifying on the battlefield like this too!

Perhaps... though I can't see them not mentioning it.

[It's a bit frustrating having to remind himself to keep all four of his legs in order but with each step it get's easier and easier to do so.]

Or he'd have dragged the damned thing home with him to show it off! That I would! Why I think one kick could probably crack an orcs skull open! Not to mention the antlers!

[ Maglor relaxes more the easier Maedhros seems to be ]

I think you could take out at LEAST three orcs at once with those antlers! [ He agrees, measuring with his hands ] Maybe more.

Definitely an outdoor only form! I wonder if we armour you in this form, if it would stay somehow when you switched back....

True. They could be sneaky little things when they wanted to.

[Once he feels he's gotten the hang of it he tries moving a bit faster, still carefully but also with a bit more confidence. Seeing as he does not end up tripping over his own legs he thinks he can count it as a success.]

At the very least! [He agrees.] More if they are the smaller sneakier types!

I'd be a natural catastrophy indoors like this! Huh? I did not think of that... but it is an interesting thing to ponder. It would be interesting to try just to see what would happen.

[ Maglor agrees and smiles to see his brother gain confidence ]

I'm no Curufin, but I'm sure we could rig up something... I wonder if this place sells chainmaille?

Something they had no problem taking shameless advantage of!

[He actually finds that he does not mind this form so much now that he's tried it out for a bit. Not that he'd want to stay this way forever, mind you, but he could see himself using it every now and then.]

I think we should all be grateful there has only ever been one Curufin... I don't know? But I hope so, for now I'm kind of curious about how it would work.

Oh very much so! [ Maglor snorts at the thought ] How he managed to produce such a darling boy as Celebrimbor I will never know. Mmm, me too. You really are sized for a surprising amount of damage! Once you work out how to turn back, I feel we should go looking.

That they certainly did! They knew being seen as the babies of the bunch gave them rather a lot more leeway than the rest of us and exploited the fact to the fullest!

[And he doubted they ever felt an ounce of regret for it either, the little scamps!]

A mystery for the ages that! [There is the distinct feeling of a laugh in the thoughts he sends his brother.] I am, I truly am! And imagine the terror I'd be on the battlefield with a skilled archer on my back as well. We should. This is too fascinating a subject to not explore.

I sometimes look back and wonder how we survived their childhood.

[ Not often, because it hurts, but he wants to remember them as they were, not always as they became ]

Especially once they started going out and learning how to hunt.

[ THE NUMBER OF TIMES HE NEARLY HAD A HEART ATTACK BECAUSE ONE OF THEM 'STALKED' HIM.... ]

It is! I am now terribly hopeful we can find something. I don't know about anyone on your back though - wouldn't that impede the swing of the antlers?

Sheer stubborn determination, I'd say.

[There's always a sharp pain that comes with thinking to often upon the past, but he does not wish to forget that they had all been happy once upon a time either. That there had been a time when they were young and innocent and not... not what they'd become afterwards.]

They did have an odd way of honing their skills...

[The first few times they'd tried the same on him he'd chucked them into a nearby pond... only to find it just emboldened them further. They were less amused when he hid all their hunting gear in retaliation, however, and he'd managed to make them swear to leave him out of that particular practice afterwards.]

Never let it be said we did not inherit father's inquisitiveness as well, little brother! Well, it would a bit, but I'd also gain an ally that can pick of enemies at a range as well... so it's all about weighing what would give me the greater advantage.

You are just lucky you're the favourite and they stopped bothering you swiftly!

That's true! Alas, with my hands I doubt I'm much of an archer any longer, else I'd offer to try. But perhaps my brother is thinking of a certain cousin~?
