The fact that his brother is so very pleased with his victory soothe his pride enough that he doesn't feel the need to needle him any more and just let him enjoy his win.]

Mmm. Some rest would likely do us some good, and perhaps these damned antlers will have fallen off by the time I wake up again.

Since he's already on his shoulder it's not a hardship to reach up and preen the hair around those antlers ]
