[It was only a matter of time, he supposed, before one of the strange effects of this place happened to him. That doesn't mean he's pleased about it, however. Slightly paniced and quite annoyed, bordering on angry, would be a more accurate way to describe his current mental state.

He is currently glaring quite menacingly at his own reflection at the moment. At the two elk horns that has started to grow from his head, if you wanted to be precise about it.]

If anyone knows how to make these go away I would be very grateful for the assistance.

[His voice is level, almost emotionless, but there is an undercurrent af anger to be heard for those who knows him well enough. One of his ears twitch in annoyance and he notices that though it is still pointed it is now covered in a soft velvety fur now.]

[ Maglor falters, just briefly, recalling the times when Maedhros could not, but he rallies, determined to keep the mood light ]

[Maglor's pause does not go unnoticed and though he does not let the mood falter Maedhros brings his brother in for a hug.]

I am. It keeps you all out of trouble, at least for a little while.

[ he is happy enough to accept the hug, pressing close ]

I like spoiling you lot, little though that some of our brothers might deserve it.

[Good, because he's not really wanting to let his brother go.]

[ Maglor relaxes into his hold. If he changes all the way, at least his brother is here ]

I think you overestimate our deserved-ness...

[They'd make a pretty puzzling sight if both of them ended up changing all the way. But no matter what happened Maedhros would be there for his brother, he'd even let him perch on his antlers every once in a while.]

It doesn't really matter wheter or not I do so, I would love you all the same even if you were the least deserving creature on Arda. I don't have it in me to do otherwise.

[ Maglor would be happy to sit in Maedhros' lap as a bird, if he changed and his brother didn't! But he's going to stick close no matter what ]

And this is why you are truly the very best of brothers. Thank you, Nelyo.

[And Maedhros would make sure nothing ever even came close to harming him in such a vulnerable form.]

I don't know about that. You're not such a bad one yourself, you know? You need not thank me in any case, I am just glad to have you as my little brother. That is truly all the thanks I really need.

I think you are the only one who might say so... I know you don't think so, Nelyo, but I feel I have failed you far too often.

[You are going to make him blush with all that praise.]

Maybe so but it is the truth as I see it. I know, and I wish I knew what to say to make you see it as I do. I never once blamed you for any of that, Kano, and there was honestly nothing you could have done differently for most of it. But even if you cannot forgive yourself for these things I want you to know that I do.

[ He says nothing that is not true! ]

You're too good to me, Nelyo - too easy to forgive! I love you for it, I do, I just... I'm sorry, Nelyo. I hurt you too badly for me to ever forgive myself.

We'll just have to disagree on that, since I think I'm as good to you as you deserve. You didn't hurt me, Kano. Others hurt me, yes, and I hurt myself as well but you have never done anything that I would count as a wrong towards me.

Definitely going to have to disagree, because even discounting Angband, the fact that I did not see how tired and hurt you were at the end is on me, Nelyo.

I kept it from you, Kano. It is not your fault that I did not want anyone to notice.

I should have seen it anyway. Am I not the one closest to you? I should have seen, but I was too caught up in my own issues, as always.


((ooc: I saw a fic writer note that Mae has 'I am the only one who can Fix It' vibes but Mags is the one who thinks everything is his fault, and it's true))

And am I not equaly close to you? Wouldn't I know best how to conceal from your eyes what I did not wish you to see? The truth is that we were both hurt and exhausted by then, neither of us were as sharp and vigilant as we once was when it came to what was going on around us.

[ooc: So true. Mae is the ultimate oldest sibling who thinks everything is his problem to deal with and Mags is the one that internalizes everything as somehow being his fault.]

[ A sigh and Maglor turns to press his face against his brother's shoulder ]

Maybe. But I still can't forgive myself.

[holdshisown]

[And he in turn rests his head against his brothers, holding him just a bit tighter.]

I know. It is a hard thing to do, forgiving yourself, but I will be here with you until you can find it in yourself to do so.

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor grumbles, feeling several more feathers sprout but not at all keen on leaving the hug ]

In that, brother-mine, I fear I will have to disappoint you.

[holdshisown]

I will never be disappointed in you, Kano. Not for anything like that, and if it is so I will just have to stay by your side until the end of time.

[He smooths the feathers down with a gentle hand, removing any lose and moulting ones he finds so that they will not itch and discomfort his brother.]

[bythewaves]

[ Maglor grumbles and decides to stop fighting the push to change, since hopefully as whatever bird he's going to be he can't talk and that way he won't have to keep fighting with his brother about this because he's right and Nelyo is just too good to see it ]

[ And with that there's a large black raven perched in Maedhros' arms ]

[Maedhros shifts his grip on his brother by pure instinct once he starts to change, keeping him as comfortable as he can in this new form. It wasn't what he was hoping for but he knew full well the possibility was there so he is not as taken aback as he could be. This is still his brother and he will love and care for him just the same no matter which form he takes.]

Kano...

[He reaches out tentatively with his mind, mentaly nudging him in concern.]

[ Ah crap he forgot about that trick...

He chirrups back at his brother, shifting a little before settling in his arm, making himself comfortable ]

I'm fine [ He promises ]

Less itch

[Luckily for Maglor he wont push him right now. To relieved that he seems to be doing fine. He runs a gentle finger along his feathered head instead.]

Good. That's good. You need anything?

[bythewaves]

[ He nudges into the finger with an appreciate croak ]

No.

[ Hm, he's some sort of corvid, isn't he. He's pretty sure he can sing. Let's see... ]
