[It was only a matter of time, he supposed, before one of the strange effects of this place happened to him. That doesn't mean he's pleased about it, however. Slightly paniced and quite annoyed, bordering on angry, would be a more accurate way to describe his current mental state.
He is currently glaring quite menacingly at his own reflection at the moment. At the two elk horns that has started to grow from his head, if you wanted to be precise about it.]
If anyone knows how to make these go away I would be very grateful for the assistance.
[His voice is level, almost emotionless, but there is an undercurrent af anger to be heard for those who knows him well enough. One of his ears twitch in annoyance and he notices that though it is still pointed it is now covered in a soft velvety fur now.]

[And it's something they're already doing for the most part.]
They were! They were almost better at it than all my troublesome brothers combined!
[Makes sense, he supposes being related to a Maia would make you a bit odd.] Sounds plausible. And, well... the twins never really had a need to change shape? I'm not sure Elwing was expecting to change as she did...
no subject
[ He hums and then frowns thoughtfully ] That's true but... also I wonder... you know, how they both look... so very like one of our relatives... [ the finwean nose, either the finwean or the luthien hair, the finwean attitude, the finwean... everything, really ]
I mean, I know they are. [ fourth cousins three times removed, wasn't it ] But also, I wonder how much of that look is... deliberate, as it were. Elrond looks much more like Luthien these days than I remember him looking as a child...
no subject
[He'd never actually thought about that before.] That is... a good question.
But there should have been more signs of their mothers line alongside their fathers. [And from what he remembered Eärendil hadn't looked all that finwean.] It wouldn't be impossible for them to instinctualy try to emulate us. Though the reasons they might have done so... [Ranges from horrifying to concerning.]

[ Maglor nods along thoughtfully and winces a bit ]
One would have thought so. But yes, they were young and we were... first impressions were not that great. [ he settles on diplomatically, remembering a very tiny Elros waving a dagger at him ]
no subject
First impressions were likely nightmarish at the time. [They had looked terrible at the time. Almost like two bloodsoaked wraiths that had been plucked out of the darkest nightmare imaginable.]
no subject
For them, especially. I would not blame them if they tried to ... appeal to our familial loyalties. Or our guilt. Or both.
[ It wasn't hard to love them, irregardless ]
no subject
It was only natural that they'd try to protect themselves. But I think it might not have been a conscious action on their part.
[Not hard to love at all. At least once he had calmed himself enough to see more than just his imediate misery.]
no subject
I think you're right... they were far too young. And tis not as if either of us knew to look for it, or train them how, even had we known.
no subject
Young and frightened, it was probably just an instinctual reaction on their part. I'm not sure anyone outside of a Maia could have trained them in those skills.
no subject
I suppose now that Elrond is going to Aman he might finally have a chance to learn... [ Elros won't, but then again, Elros chose mortality, and who is to say if that wasn't a similar type of change ]
no subject
If he wishes to. [It would make sense, in a way, if it was so.]
no subject
[ HE'S TRAUMATISED NELYO ]
He's Elrond. He always wants to learn. [ Maglor points out wryly ]
no subject
[AND YOU THINK HE ISN'T?!]
True. But he might want to take his time getting to it. [There was probably a lot of things he'd like to see to before that.]
no subject
[ THEN THEY SHOULDN'T TALK ABOUT IT ]
He has the time, after all - for whatever he wants to learn.
no subject
[TOO BAD BECAUSE HE WANT'S TO TALK ABOUT IT NOW]
All the time in the world.
no subject
[ HAVE MERCY ]
I hope he'll be happy.
no subject
[HMM, LET HIM THINK ABOUT IT... NO]
He will. He will see his wife again, and his parents as well. Even if there will still be the pain of what he has lost there will be joy as well.
no subject
[ Nooooooooooooo! ]
Mm, and one day, you will hopefully leave Mandos to meet him. He'd like that, I'm sure.
no subject
[Don't be dramatic, Kano.]
And hopefully you will make your way there as well. He'd like that even more.
no subject
[ He's a bard, drama is required ]
I will try... I did promise.
no subject
[At least tone it down a bit.]
As will I. Many things can be said about us but no one can say that we do not keep our promises.
no subject
[ if he has to talk about it he's going to be as dramatic as possible, thanks ]
Mm, that's true. [ That, and neither of them want to make Elrond sad ]
Will you be waiting for me, Nelyo, or shall I wait for you?
no subject
[He supposes there is no real way for him to stop you from your dramatics, so if they make you happy...]
We will have to put all of our stubborness into it. [No. Neither of them wanted to see Elrond sad.]
I don't know... we have both set ourselves tasks that will be hard to accomplish. It is impossible to tell which one of us will succeed first. But... if I leave the Halls before you reach Aman, I will not just wait for you. I will swallow my pride and entreat the Valar on your behalf, even if I have to humble myself before them... and if they will permit it I will come for you as well.
no subject
We will. [ He hums ]
And if I come back first, I will wait outside the Halls for you Nelyo - don't rush yourself, please! I don't wish for you to get into trouble.
no subject
We must. [Because failing would mean hurting Elrond and their mother more than they already had.]
And sooner or later we will meet again. Don't worry. I will... take as much time as I need to heal properly this time. I won't get into trouble but if they let me out then surely they must also want you to return, don't you think? I don't think there will be any harm from simply asking them.
